“阳江组合”工作室 Yangjiang Group Studio（2009-2012）

“阳江组合”工作室是从“七套商品房”和“帝国时代”的建造过程中发展出来的一个建筑，大约从2009年开始构思建造。   

  “阳江组合”成立于2002年，专注在以中国书法作为媒介来进行当代艺术的创作，成员包括郑国谷，陈再炎、孙庆麟，从2017年开始，更名为“阳江组合”。当代现实在他们看来，就是一张活生生的书法；进而，汉字书写作为反映世界的力量，混合了人生旅程中不可知的动力，自然锤炼成为独特的当代艺术实践。     

在郑国谷看来，“阳江组合”工作室的建筑虽然从外观上看起来具有爆炸性，但里面蕴含的还是一些东方的建筑理念，比如一些“气口”，希望通过这些气口可以收纳到一些亲近自然的“气息”，从根本上还是接近中国园林的手法。

The architecture of the Yangjiang Group Studio, whose conception and construction began around 2009, stemmed from the construction process of The Age of Empire.

Yangjiang Group was founded in 2002, its members include Zheng Guogu, Chen Zaiyan, Sun Qinglin, and it focuses on Chinese calligraphy as its medium to create contemporary art. The reality of the contemporary world for them is a living piece of calligraphy. Chinese characters have the power of reflecting the changing world and also to incorporate the unknown forces encountered in life, calligraphy writing can thus naturally be transformed into a unique contemporary art practice.

In Zheng Guogu’s view, although the architecture of Yangjiang Group Studio looks astonishing from its appearance, what lie beneath it are still oriental architectural concepts. For example, the “air holes” in the building are designed to receive the “Qi” coming from nature, in order for people to feel comfortable in the building. The building of the studio employed very similar techniques to that employed in the building of traditional Chinese gardens.
